The purpose of FSUK is to help stop the pain caused by mental health disorders. The hope is to provide mental health services to local organisations as well as individuals and families who are now beginning to demand better treatment and less waiting times. FSUK extends emotional support, provides articles to assist in recovery, and offers crisis intervention. We are today involved with the process of making changes in our local community as much as is possible and we encourage outside agencies and local authorities to assist us with these efforts to get the best out of us.
At FSUK today, ideas are born and volunteers are trained to run new mental health supporting programs, for example playing soft live music, reading with families and children, social activities like organised trips and walks, mind and body workshops offering 20minutes yoga, meditation techniques, taking families on retreats and etc. We offer more than therapy. Our programmes are all about getting people to reflect and be more proactive for better mental discipline. Our aim is to create happier families and with responsible life styles, contributing a better and a safer local community.
We recognise mental health care in our society is extremely poor due to the lack of understanding of its illness. Many people continue to suffer and, lives are literally lost, and unemployment is high due to lack of interest in our society on mental health. When assisting people with mental health disorders people continue to be heavily stigmatized. ‘Mental health’ word is mis-educated and the concern overall is not there.
FSUK is alive today to make a difference in the endless suffering to our socially disturbed local communities and believes that mental illness like depression could stop with proper education to those that treat this population and educating the public. Our services are built with the highest integrity, compassion for local consumers and families, the skills of mental health professionals and experience of consumers. FSUK endorses our mission within the local community to work for a better life for everyone with experience of mental distress.
The mission of FSUK will provide state-of-the-art evaluation and ongoing care for local families and individuals who suffer from a spectrum of mental health disability and improve their lives and their families’ wellness.
