Trips and walks
The idea is to improve the mental health of participants while at the same time decreasing isolation, giving service users more confidence to self-help while at the same time breaking down barriers and stigma surrounding mental health issues and social mobility.
Organised trips / walks will take place on a week day. A therapist will be on each trip plus a walk leader. Service users will have the opportunity to get help from a therapist / mentor in an informal setting. In addition, service users will be able to interact with one another, outside of their normal daily patterns, leading to greater self confidence, and social connections, improving their emotional and physical wellbeing in a socially stimulating surrounding.
Trips will be in and out of London. Participants will visit green spaces, cultural centers, art galleries, the sea side, for example Beckenham Place Park, Crystal Palace, Maritime Museum, Brighton pier.
By widening access to nature and culture, creativity is improved with notions of isolation and loneliness addressed.
