Family intervention programme - Psycho education learning programme
For people and carers working with parents and families.
The family intervention programmes will help parents enjoy being a parent and will help parents cope with mild to moderate day to day parenting difficulties. The programme will address parent anxieties and stress.
Family intervention programmes are a psycho education parenting tool. It is an outcome of research carried out into ‘Parenting Psychology and Efficacy’ and client experiences which highlight the importance of psychological growth for families and parents. The programmes address the gap in information for parents compared with the information provided about physical health like exercise, eating habits, smoking, and breastfeeding.
The programmes will give you resources to deal with challenges presented by family problems and child developmental stages. For example, single parenting, children starting primary school, moving onto secondary school, going into adolescence, peer pressure, family social and cultural differences, generational differences.
Specialised psycho education parent learning promotes psychological growth for families and parents and carers, improves awareness, knowledge and helps parents develop self directive resources, strategies, parent discipline and most of all to enjoy parenting even when they are tested by their children.
